Terminal Operator

The Terminal Operator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the pipeline. The primary function of this position is to operate and maintain terminal assets and/or pipeline facilities including tanks and pipeline pumping stations located in Falls City, Texas.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operate and maintain terminal facilities including:

- Tanks, pumps, LACTs, valves and terminal piping, to ensure accurate and safe transportation and storage of products and custody transfer activities with connecting pipelines.

- Inspects pumps, valves and equipment for proper operation and performs general facility maintenance as needed.

- Operate and maintain terminal facilities including:

- tanks, pumps, LACTs, valves and terminal piping, to ensure accurate and safe transportation and storage of products and custody transfer activities with connecting pipelines.

- Ensure accurate and safe transportation and storage of products, keeping them in good safe condition and in compliance with government regulations. Position also assists with petroleum product movements in and out of pipeline terminal and/or pump stations, storage of products, custody transfer activities.

- Takes oil samples and performs routine grind outs to measure sediment, water content and determine quality.

- Performs tank gauging to measure contents and account for product stored and product moved into and out of tanks.

- Performs routine daily maintenance tasks on the pipeline operations.

- Operates terminal equipment, such as meter skid and UTV.

- Works closely with Instrumentation and Electrical Technicians (SCADA and HMI systems)

- Responds to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives.

- Performs all monthly DOT inspections, including tankage, fire extinguisher, and ensures associated records are completed.

- Inspects perimeter fencing, locks, etc. to maintain proper facility security.

- Maintains environmental equipment and processing of any waste.

REQUIREMENTS

- 1-3 years of experience in the chemical or petroleum industry

- Proficient user of MS Office Suite

- Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

- Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts as needed – including overtime and night/weekend callouts.

- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.

- Ability to demonstrate leadership and team capabilities when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Able to work at high elevations.

- Able to work in extreme hot and cold weather.

- Regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear.

- Occasionally required to stand; use hands to grasp, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; and may occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

- Excellent mechanical aptitude (understanding of crude oil measurement, custody transfer, tank gauging, and meter proving are a plus, but not required)

- Ability to work under limited supervision.

- The ability to train in Operator Qualification (QC) Certification for valve and pump station maintenance and repair per DOT requirements for pipeline operators.
