Technician Senior - Machinist, GREC Maintenance

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program in machining or equivalent experience.

- Minimum of [3-5] years of experience as a machinist in an industrial setting, preferably in a power plant or similar environment.

- Strong knowledge of machining principles, techniques, and practices.

- Proficiency in operating various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and CNC machines.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics.

- Skill in performing precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring instruments.

- Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.

- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.

- Knowledge of various materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, and other alloys.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.

- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with specific power plant equipment (e.g., turbines, pumps, valves).

- Certifications in specific machining or welding processes.

- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Working Conditions:

- Power plant environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, heat, and varying weather conditions.

- May require working in confined spaces and at heights.

- May involve lifting and carrying heavy objects.

- Rotating shifts, overtime, and weekend work may be required.

- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
