The role of the Multi Skilled Instrument Technician is to perform PM (preventive maintenance) and CM (corrective maintenance) activities that include but not limited to: maintaining, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of complex and elementary indication and control loop “devices” with in the LNG facilities. These “devices” include but limited to: process instrumentation (Rosemount, Vega, Fisher, Masoneilan, etc.), analyzers, Fire & Gas, PAGA, control valves, ship to shore communications, etc The Instrument Technician is responsible for adhering to safety and technical procedures, recognized standards, industry practices, and Company policies. The individual will comply with all Cameron LNG company, safety, environmental and industry requirements. This position has call-out responsibilities.
This position is located in Hackberry, LA. Employees’ primary residence must be located within a one-hour drive from the Hackberry plant site. This measure will assure that response time for callouts is kept to a minimum, which increases the safety of our employees in an unexpected or emergent situation.
Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required.
- Performs corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
- Theses activates include but not limited to solving operational, maintenance, and reliability problems, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and/or replacements of equipment
- Maintains both regulatory and non-regulatory maintenance records. Performs work reports/updates via our CMMS database
- Interfaces with supervisor, operations, and engineering, or other departments as needed to ensure safe, reliable, and cost effective maintenance and facility operation. This is accomplished via feedback on work performed
- Provides support for work planning and scheduling
- Participate in emergency response activities as job and situation dictate to protect life and property
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required;
- Technical degree in instrumentation OR Nationally recognized standard: ISA, NCCER, NICET, or Apprenticeship required. ALL APPLICANTS MUST UPLOAD A COPY OF THEIR INSTRUMENTATION DEGREE OR NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED STANDARD CERTIFICATE IN ADDITION TO THEIR RESUME.
- Employee with 3-4 years of Maintenance Experience or 8-10 years of Construction Experience.
- Experience in LNG production, natural gas processing, or Oil and Gas industry
- Experience in industrial, petrochemical, or refining in respect to the industrial instrumentation field
- Strong communication, work ethic and technical skills
- Good computer skills
- Must be able to push, pull, lift, carry, kneel, stoop, walk, sit and reach overhead.
- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft. to 200 ft.
- Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
- Must be able to wear safety equipment such as safety harness, respirator and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
- Must be willing to be on call, work overtime as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
- Must be willing to travel for trainings as required.
