Insituform Technologies LLC, an Azuria Company, is looking for an experienced Technical Technical Training Developer.
Insituform is a leading worldwide provider of cured-in place pipe (CIPP) and other technologies and services for the rehabilitation of pipeline systems. Insituform’s businesses consist of sewer, drinking water and energy and mining pipeline rehabilitation and protection. The Company provides cost-effective solutions to remediate operational, health, regulatory and environmental problems resulting from aging and defective pipelines. Insituform’s technologies allow its customers to avoid the extraordinary expense and extreme disruption that can result from traditional "dig and replace" methods.
The Technical Training Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging and effective technical training programs for internal employees, partners, and/or customers. This role requires a strong understanding of technical concepts, excellent instructional design skills, and the ability to translate complex information into easily digestible learning materials. The Technical Training Developer will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content and will utilize various delivery methods, including e-learning, instructor-led training, documentation, and multimedia resources.
- Needs Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs to identify training needs and performance gaps related to technical products, processes, and systems.
- Content Development: Create high-quality training materials, including:
- E-learning modules (using authoring tools like Articulate Storyline/RISE, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
- Instructor-led training (ILT) materials (slide decks, facilitator guides, participant workbooks, activities)
- Video tutorials and demonstrations (scripting, storyboarding, basic video editing)
- Job aids, quick reference guides, and knowledge base articles
- Assessments and evaluations to measure learning effectiveness
- Collaboration with SMEs: Work closely with product managers, engineers, support teams, and other subject matter experts to gather accurate technical information and ensure content accuracy.
- Delivery and Facilitation: Deliver instructor-led training sessions (in-person and virtual) as needed.
- Learning Technology Management: Utilize and potentially administer Learning Management Systems (LMS) to host and track training content and learner progress.
- Content Maintenance: Regularly review and update existing training materials to reflect product updates, process changes, and feedback.
- Evaluation and Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance data, and implement continuous improvements.
- Project Management: Manage training development projects, including planning, scheduling, and tracking progress to meet deadlines.
- Stay Current: Keep abreast of the latest trends in learning technologies, instructional design methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and organized documentation of training materials and development processes.
- Primarily Content Development of:
- Operator Training / WI’s
- Tech Fleet Maintenance Practices
Physical Demands: In the performance of duties for this position, the employee is: regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and taste or smell; regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 65 pounds). Vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Ability for extended concentration.
Work Environment: In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in an office/shop type environment but will required to travel to client sites and regularly be required to work in outside weather conditions (near job sites with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by pedestrian method, public transportation, automobile and/or airplane is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise learning materials.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) administration and functionality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Basic video editing and multimedia development skills are a plus.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience working with subject matter experts.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience with virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams).
- Experience with gamification and other engaging learning techniques.
- Deliver HQ Level Training when required
- Monitoring & Diagnostics - Data Analytics / Business improvement projects
- Internal Customer = Tech Trainers / Operators
