As a Technical Specialist Automation supporting our automation processes, you will develop and complete equipment condition-based maintenance programs, repair and improve operational reliability of automation infrastructure and systems, support automation equipment outage and maintenance, and support Tier 2 field personnel, Tech Services, and others as needs arise.
Some of the work you will be doing also includes:
•Performing management of change plan and work plan reviews
•Supporting project design review and automation systems
•Developing training programs and training field technicians on automation fundamentals
•Coordinating firmware and software testing
•Crafting implementation plans and coordinating implementation efforts with others
•Performing due diligence
Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are vital in this role. Taking initiative, anticipating customer needs and crafting innovative solutions are keys to success!

•Demonstrates technical expertise in automation for specialty, geographic area, or operational function
•Applies specialized knowledge in the efficient and effective completion of major projects while coordinating and controlling costs and resources associated with projects
•Prepares and delivers presentations
•Maintains a strong understanding of industry and operational requirements
•Interprets and anticipates internal and external business challenges and customer needs; improves products, processes or services and identifies solutions
•Collaborates with teams to ensure compliance, build improvement plans and meet training needs
•Serves as content lead and custodian for operations and maintenance requirements, guidelines and variance requests
•Supports technical security initiatives and hardware refreshes
•Supports approved manufacturer list for enterprise

Education/Years of Experience:
Technical Specialist II
•Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in technical field and a minimum two (2) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
•Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or engineering and a minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
Technical Specialist III
•Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in engineering or a technical field and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
•Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field and minimum seven (7) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
Technical Specialist Sr
•Required: High school diploma/GED and minimum eight (8) years of progressive experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
•Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
Other Requirements:
•Must be willing to travel up to 50%
•Extensive experience working with Allen Bradley PLC, FactoryTalk, AVEVA (Wonderware) DCS
•Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
•Sophisticated knowledge in enterprise administration, maintenance, reporting and support for AssetCentre and other enterprise automation systems and software
•Solid understanding of programmable logic control, distributed control and human-machine interface systems and programming protocols for operations support
, Performs a wide spectrum of moderately difficult assignments requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment. Applies knowledge and experience to solve complex problems. May be called upon to make unreviewed decisions and coordinate activities of others. Understands industry and system requirements. Has demonstrated the ability to produce results and meet goals. This role specializes in automation. Provide programming, troubleshooting, training and commissioning services for complex Automated compression and process control systems throughout the Williams system. These automation systems may incorporate multiple control system platforms requiring the use of various programming protocols.
