Position Summary

Fabricated Metal Products LLC is seeking a technically skilled and customer-focused Sales Engineer to join our team. The Sales Engineer bridges engineering, production, and customer needs — delivering accurate, competitive quotes, providing technical support, and ensuring projects meet quality and contractual requirements. This position combines estimating expertise with customer relationship management and ownership of the job setup process in our ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

•

Analyze drawings, blueprints, and specifications to define project scope and requirements.

•

Review and analyze detailed cost estimates covering labor, materials, machining, welding, finishing, and subcontracted work.

•

Develop, present, and follow up on proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.

•

Perform contract reviews to ensure alignment between customer requirements.

•

Collaborate with customers, production, and vendors to validate manufacturability, ensure quote accuracy, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

•

Enter job routings and work instructions into the ERP system, defining manufacturing steps, setup/run times, and work centers.

•

Maintain organized records of routings entered and to be entered in ERP system.

•

Support continuous improvement initiatives for quoting, job setup, and customer satisfaction.

Skills & Qualifications

•

Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes: cutting, forming, welding, CNC machining, and assembly.

•

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.

•

Proficient in Excel and Microsoft office.

•

Experience in technical sales, estimating, or applications engineering in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

•

Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., JobBOSS, ProShop, Apten, TCM, Paperless Parts) for entering job routings and managing quotes.

•

Excellent communication skills — able to clearly explain technical concepts to customers and internal teams.

•

Strong math, analytical, and time management skills.
