About This Job

WE ARE SKYTREE

Skytree enables a transition to a world with cleaner air for everyone. We do this by developing and deploying smart technology that captures atmospheric carbon dioxide, enabling its use or storage to combat climate change and aid society and businesses around the world.

Born out of the European Space Agency (ESA), we are a global team of highly talented scientists, engineers and business professionals, supported by an experienced management team. Our working culture is based on a dynamic and smart approach to business with an open and understanding attitude to others and a desire to expand the boundaries of what is possible.

With our global head office in the exciting Dutch city of Amsterdam and presence in the North American region, we are expanding our team in Canada and looking for a driven Technical Project Manager to go on this journey with us.

This role is based in Toronto and will involve business travel, primarily in North America but also occasionally in Europe.

Working across our European and American teams, this is a truly unique opportunity to join a future global industry leader at an early stage, making a big impact and growing together with the business.

Take a moment to read more about our values and life at Skytree on our Careers Page.

Ready to make your mark on the world of CO2? Then read on! THE ROLE

As a Technical Project Development Manager, you will engage with customers in projects where Skytree is selected as a vendor of choice until the operational phase of the project. You will ensure the seamless integration of our direct air capture technology into customer energy systems and downstream processes, delivering exceptional support and technical expertise from pre-contract phase through implementation and beyond. Working closely with the North American Project Development Team, Global Strategy & Solutions Team and Global Operations Team, you will provide project oversight, align with EPC partners and progress the deployment to drive success and adoption of our DAC solutions.

You will report directly to the VP of Project Development and act as the primary technical liaison for DAC project deployments.

Your role will involve translating complex technical requirements into actionable plans, managing timelines and deliverables, and proactively identifying and resolving potential roadblocks. You will also ensure partners receive accurate, timely, and comprehensive technical documentation and support, fostering strong relationships and enabling seamless integration of Skytree technology into their operations. Your ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders will be critical to aligning expectations and delivering high-impact results.

YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT BY

- Project Management: Plan, manage, and oversee customer site preparation, installations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at optimal performance. Coordinate between customers, solutions team, operations, and EPC contractors.

- Technical Leadership: Serve as the technical expert on Skytree’s DAC Hubs, articulating their capabilities and value to customers and partners.

- Customer Success Management: Guide customers from pre-sales to implementation, providing project oversight and ongoing professional support to maximize customer satisfaction and expansion.

- Site Qualification & Installation: Lead site assessments, prepare site specifications, and oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of Skytree systems.

- Customer Feedback: Collect and relay market and customer feedback to the Engineering and Product teams for continuous product improvement.

- Monitoring & Services Activation: Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure customers are onboarded into Skytree’s monitoring, alerting, and maintenance systems to deliver proactive, ongoing support.

- Stakeholder Management: Foster trust and collaboration among customers, internal teams, and external EPC contractors to ensure seamless project execution.

What We Are Looking For

- 5+ years of experience in technical project management and/or customer success, within industrial hardware or climate tech sectors.

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Proven ability to present and apply technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience with hardware deployment and integration into industrial environments is a strong plus.

- Exceptional ability to build trust with customers, explain technical solutions clearly, and align with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

- Experience planning, coordinating, and executing customer projects (knowledge of MS Projects, Jira, or similar tools is a plus).

- Ability to be flexible and develop innovative solutions in dynamic and changing environments.

- A team player with strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience.

- Willingness to travel across North America, with occasional trips to Europe.

- You are already based in Canada, within commuting distance to Toronto.

- Fluency in English (French is a bonus).

What You Can Expect

Apart from working with great colleagues and a competitive package, you can also expect these additional benefits:

- An opportunity for professional and personal growth in one of the most innovative climate tech start-ups globally!

- A diverse and international team

- A competitive salary aligned with the market, with annual compensation reviews

- A phone allowance and laptop

- 25 vacation days per year, with additional special leave days for life events :-)

- Possibility to take an additional 5 days of unpaid leave each year

- A (flexible) hybrid working policy where possible

- We believe in work/life balance and regular social events with a focus on employee engagement opportunities to connect as a team
