Technical Operator (Coating)

Welspun has immediate openings for Technical Operators (Assembly Line Machine and Panel Operators) in the Powder Coating plant.

Welspun’s Little Rock facilities are state-of-the-art and one of its kind in technology for producing pipes for the oil and gas industry. The HFW mill is a fully automatic and integrated mill capable of producing pipes ranging in diameter 6 5/8th inches to 20” and wall thickness from 0.158” to 0.551”.

Job Summary: Perform the job in timely fashion to support production and ensure coating line does not stop. Ensure to wear PPE’s as mentioned in JSA and required to perform the job. Ensure no man movement in the travel of the pipe movement at any time. Ensure safety of surrounding area before moving any pipe. Report to shift supervisor for any wear and tear or any breakdown or malfunction in material handling equipment. Must be able to maintain good housekeeping standards around the working area. Must follow LOTO in case of maintenance performing any job in the area. Communicate with relevant stations to maintain productivity. Carry out pipe heating and epoxy spraying application, water cooling operation safely and efficiently as per work instructions and job safety analysis.

Responsibilities:

External Application Operator

· Ensure working of all the coating line conveyor rollers and in good shape.

· Ensure to remain in coating application operating booth all the time whenever heating, coating operation is in process.

· Ensure to follow the proper sequence of operation during starting, shutting off and running of the Powder coating equipment as per work instructions.

· Ensure to maintain induction coil, epoxy powder spray system, Bag Filters in sound and healthy condition all the time.

· Fill up the data sheets as required by process sheets.

· Setting of Coating conveyor line and parameters for heating, Epoxy spraying system, water cooling system so as achieve required results as per process sheets.

· Ensure to have calibrated instruments and dial gauges required to operate epoxy spray system all the time.

· Ensure smooth and uniform coating as per customer’s specifications.

· Accountable for the consumption of epoxy powder with respect to coating thickness.

· Cleaning of epoxy application booths at regular intervals.

· Ensure to follow the proper sequence of operation during starting, shutting off and running of the Powder coating equipment as per work instructions.

· Perform the job in timely fashion to support production and ensure coating line does not stop.

· Ensure to remain in blasting operating booth all the time whenever preheating, blasting operation is in process.

· Ensure to follow the proper sequence of operations during starting & shutting off the blasting machine as per work instructions.

· Ensure to maintain preheating oven, Blasting machines, Bag Filters in sound and healthy condition all the time.

· Feeding of proper blasting material at regular intervals and record the consumption.

· Setting of Blast conveyor line and parameters for preheating oven, Blaster machines so as achieve required results as per process sheets.

· Ensure to have calibrated instruments and dial gauges required to operate preheating oven and blaster machines all the time.

Internal Blast M/C Operator

· Ensure working of all the blasting line conveyor rollers and in good shape.

· Perform the job in timely fashion to support production and ensure coating line does not stop.

· Ensure to remain in blasting operating booth all the time whenever preheating, blasting operation is in process.

· Ensure to follow the proper sequence of operations during starting & shutting off the blasting machine as per work instructions.

· Ensure to maintain preheating oven, Blasting machines, Bag Filters in sound and healthy condition all the time.

· Feeding of proper blasting material at regular intervals and record the consumption.

· Setting of Blast conveyor line and parameters for preheating oven, Blaster machines so as achieve required results as per process sheets.

· Ensure to have calibrated instruments and dial gauges required to operate preheating oven and blaster machines all the time.

Internal Paint Line Operator

· Ensure working of all the coating buggy rollers, guide rollers on the spraying plate are in good shape.

· Ensure to remain in coating application operating booth all the time whenever pipe transfer, heating, coating operations are in process.

· Ensure to follow the proper sequence of operation during starting, shutting off and running of the Powder coating equipment as per work instructions.

· Ensure that all spray guns have enough air supply before coating/spraying start up.

· Setting of liquid epoxy spray guns, coating lance, angle of rotator buggies, forward and return speed of coating lance so as to achieve required results as per process sheets and productivity.

· Ensure to maintain liquid epoxy paint systems, bag filters in sound and healthy condition at all times

· Fill up the data sheets as required by process sheets / work instructions.

· Accountable for the consumption of liquid epoxy paint.

· Cleaning of epoxy application booths at regular intervals.

Education/Experience: Diploma / High School Graduate and 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Suitable combination of Education and Experience may be use for outstanding candidate with demonstrated excellence on the job. Minimum experience of 6 months as an asst. blast operator.
