Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Technical Cost Estimator/Sales Engineering Manager at Shawnee Specialties Inc in Eau Claire, MI. The role involves day-to-day tasks such as cost management, project estimation, budgeting, and cost control to provide accurate estimates for custom die castings projects.
Cost Estimation:
•Collaborate with clients to assess project requirements and specifications
•Estimate project costs, including materials, labor, tooling, overhead, and any other relevant expenses
•Review project designs and blueprints to determine the most cost-effective production methods
•Prepare and deliver detailed cost estimates to clients, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
•Continuously update and refine cost estimation processes and databases
Technical Knowledge:
•Stay current with advancements in die casting technology, materials, and processes
•Provide technical expertise and best practices to clients when designing parts and tooling for manufacturability
Customer Relationship Management:
•Foster strong, long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and their satisfaction is maintained
•Address client inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally
•Act as a primary point of contact between the client and Shawnee Specialties
Documentation and Reporting:
•Maintain accurate records of client interactions, sales activities, and project estimates
•Provide regular reports and updates on sales performance and forecasting
Qualifications
•Cost Management, Budgeting, and Cost Control skills
•Analytical Skills and Project Estimation abilities
•Experience in manufacturing or engineering industry
•Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field
•Ability to work in Google Suite as well as Microsoft Office efficiently
•Proficiency in using relevant software tools and applications for estimation and customer relationship management
