Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer systems. Solid State Transformers systems are much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. We are looking for mission driven team members passionate about making amazing products for worldwide electrification at maximum acceleration. We're looking for a Technical Product Compliance Manager
who can lead from the front, setting the strategy that makes regulatory adherence a competitive advantage.
As
Technical Product Compliance Manager, you will build and lead the compliance engineering function at Amperesand, ensuring our products not only meet global regulatory requirements but do so with the most favorable interpretations and the least friction. You’ll own the strategic direction for product compliance, partner with engineering and product leadership to define certification pathways early in the development process, and engage directly with NRTLs such as TUV, UL, CSA, and global authorities to shape testing outcomes and timelines.
You will manage and grow a high-performance compliance engineering team, mentor technical staff, and develop scalable systems that ensure consistent success across diverse regulatory domains. This is a
leadership rolerequiring technical depth, organizational influence, and proactive engagement with evolving standards like
UL 1741-SB,
IEC 60730, and
IEEE 1547.1. Your mission is to ensure Amperesand is always one step ahead—never waiting for compliance, but defining it.
Define and execute Amperesand’s certification and compliance roadmap across North American and international markets. Drive early-phase engagement with product and engineering teams to identify regulatory requirements in concept stage.
Build, manage, and mentor a team of compliance engineers to deliver high-integrity documentation, lab coordination, and standard interpretation throughout the development lifecycle.
Serve as the internal authority on complex standards (e.g., UL 1741-SB, IEEE 1547.1, IEC 60730, UL 1998). Shape how those standards are applied to our technology and advocate for interpretations that support innovation while preserving safety.
Own relationships with certifying bodies (TUV, UL, CSA, Intertek), lead negotiations on test requirements, coordinate test campaigns, and influence outcomes through proactive preparation and ongoing technical dialogue.
Create and own internal tools and processes for compliance tracking, certification documentation, product labeling, and pre-compliance validation. Drive automation where possible.
Partner with Product Management, Safety Engineering, Firmware, and Power Systems to ensure compliance is embedded across product definition, not bolted on later.
Prepare products for international certification including CE, UKCA, RoHS, and other country-specific requirements. Lead alignment on modular design reuse and regulatory harmonization.
