Job Summary
Located with the Corporate Headquarter in Houston, this role is critical in supporting key corporate tax planning initiatives arising from group’s merger and acquisitions activities and tax legislation changes. The Tax Manager, Special Projects will be responsible for UK, US, and other international tax issues. They will contribute to broader Group wide international tax compliance matters and will be required to support projects including commercial tenders.
Job Specific Responsibilities
- Monitor tax law developments and communicate to management impacts on Group’s tax position
- Lead Group’s response to new global tax initiatives, e.g., implementation of processes to ensure OECD BEPS Pillar 2 compliance
- Lead Group’s compliance with Country-by-Country Reporting obligations
- Support compliance with Group’s transfer pricing policies and preparation of transfer pricing documentation
- Collaborate with team members, advisors, and stakeholders to implement group-wide initiatives and projects, including group structure rationalization and M&A activities
- Support tax risk management initiatives by identifying tax risks, implementing processes and procedures to mitigate tax risks, and monitoring and documenting compliance with such controls
- Support compliance with tax governance regimes in various jurisdictions, e.g., UK Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence regimes
- Manage tax compliance obligations for assigned entities and tax jurisdictions
- Assist with response to tax audits, inquiries, and assessments
- Support the Group’s external tax reporting by preparing or reviewing tax provision computations for assigned entities and tax jurisdictions and assessing adequacy of reserves for uncertain tax positions
- Support the Group’s commercial team in connection with their response to bid tenders and by addressing tax implications of contracts with customers and suppliers

Essential KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 years relevant tax experience with 2 years cross-border tax experience
Solid overview of transfer pricing issues
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Comfortable working with a lean internal team
Strong internal and external stakeholder management at all levels

Able to balance multiple priorities

Education And Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline
Recognised accountancy or tax qualification
Preferred
CPA (or eligible to sit for CPA exam)
