The Tax Manager will coordinate and manage all tax-related activities for Cooper Precision (CP) and On Energy (ON), serving as the primary liaison between internal leadership and external tax advisors. This role will ensure accurate compliance, maintain organized tax records, and assist with implementing strategies developed in collaboration with outside experts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in U.S. tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, and LLCs, and be eager to expand their strategic capabilities under the guidance of the CFO and external tax firms.
Requirements
- Coordinate preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local returns (corporate, partnership, and individual partner-related).
- Maintain and organize tax documentation for all entities and partners.
- Assist in implementing tax planning strategies recommended by external advisors.
- Manage communications, timelines, and deliverables between CP/ON and outside firms.
- Research and summarize relevant tax law changes affecting the companies or partners.
- Support modeling of tax impacts for transactions, distributions, or restructuring.
- Prepare periodic tax reports and status updates for CFO and partners.
- 3–6 years of U.S. tax experience (public accounting or in-house).
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local corporate and partnership taxation.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Comfort working with outside advisors and summarizing their recommendations.
- CPA or EA license (or working toward it).
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-state tax compliance.
- Exposure to partnership tax planning and individual high-net-worth tax issues.
