Purpose of Role:
The Tax Analyst is responsible for gathering and processing information relating primarily to U.S. entities and foreign subsidiaries. Areas of focus include preparing and reviewing income tax returns, preparing income tax provisions, executing process improvement and assisting with tax consultation and examination procedures

Prepare and review U.S. subsidiary income tax returns and unitary, combined, consolidated, and stand-alone state income tax returns. Prepare and review detailed workpapers and related U.S. federal income tax forms (e.g., Forms 1118, 5471, 8858, and 8865) for international entities reported as part of Weir Group Inc.’s U.S. consolidated income tax return. Contribute to estimated tax payment calculations and account maintenance associated with tax payments, prior year receivables, and deferred taxes.
Prepare year-end income tax provision workpapers. Prepare tax provision-to-return reconciliations, including tax return true-ups and proof of state income tax rate. Prepare entries for tax accounting.
Collaborate with tax department leadership to execute projects aimed at standardizing and streamlining tax processes. Create robust process documentation, utilize technology to manipulate and transform significant amounts of data, and enhance workpaper integration with tax software.
Assist with tax planning projects, working with other members of the Tax Department and other divisions of Weir. Research current and past tax law utilizing tax research software. Review new federal tax laws and advise on their potential impact on the company. Stay current on tax publications for recent tax developments. Assist with federal, state, and international tax audits.
