T&D Relay Technician - CPS

The Central Power Station (CPS) supplies all electrical power to the Prudhoe Bay Unit oil field. CPS is hiring for the position of CPS T&D Relay Technician. This position is based on the North Slope of Alaska, working a two weeks on, two weeks off schedule (2/2). This position works twelve (12) hour shifts. This is a represented position by the USW local 4959. Primary duties include:* Proficiently using hand tools, power tools, meters and other test equipment in energized substations to install, maintain, repair and program protective relays and associated wiring and equipment.

Secondary duties include:* Experience with oil and gas circuit breakers, oil filled transformers, capacitor banks and various other electrical apparatus used in an electrical utility setting.

Essential Education / Job Experience* A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Desirable criteria and qualifications* Experience in power plant operations, generation with associated equipment, excitation systems, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low/medium voltage switchgears
