Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Security Systems Specialist position located in Carlsbad, NM. U.S. citizenship is required Responsibilities The successful applicant will report to the Safeguards and Security (S&S) Performance Assurance Program (PAP) Manager. This position requires a conceptual understanding of computers, networking, and the ability to understand and follow user manuals for software applications. Applicant will ensure compliance with the Safeguards & Security (S&S) Program with National Drivers, Department of Energy (DOE) Directives, and site procedures. The candidate will be the liaison between the Security Systems Cognizant Engineer, the Information Technology organization, and the Protective Force in the development and oversight of implementation, maintenance, and administration of site physical access control security systems (cameras, alarm systems, card reader systems, and alarm systems management). Applicant will assist in the development of training for required personnel in accordance with site and manufacturer's specifications. Applicant will perform duties, under the direction of the PAP Manager, of key security systems, physical access control systems (PACS), camera systems, and Physical security systems testing. Applicant will routinely guide the Protective Force (PF) and S&S staff on new and existing security systems. Digitally create and implement new badge designs and layouts as necessary. Routinely monitor site personnel within the PACS to ensure personnel are being added, denied access, or removed as applicable. Assist in the performance of PAP surveillances to ensure compliance with DOE directives and S&S procedures. Assist the PF Training program with the development of additional training on security systems, as applicable, for the Protective Force and Personnel Security teams. Applicant will assist in the S&S Security Awareness Program and embrace nuclear security safety principles. Applicant may be assigned additional administrative duties by S&S Management as required.
Minimum Requirements* Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of professional experience, or
Preferred Requirements* Active "Q" Clearance preferred.
