Responsibilities
Basic Purpose
Responsible for maintaining systems and their associated operating systems for computer applications. Conducts analysis, creates system specifications, develops, tests and implements operating systems. Utilizes existing or new technology in the automation of processes. Evaluates software packages and provides recommendations to management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Provides operational support of the Mainframe, Windows or UNIX systems computing environment. Responsibilities include OS and application software installations and upgrades, backup and recovery administration, adding/deleting users and peripheral equipment, troubleshooting system and application issues. (50-75%)
•Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Implements machine modifications to increase capacity of the system. Compiles records and reports concerning production, machine malfunctioning and maintenance. May advise on workflow plans, methods and procedures analysis. Analyzes the results of monitoring the operating system(s) and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization. (10-20%)
•Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with the user community to understand their security needs and implements procedures to accommodate them. Conducts accurate evaluation of the level of security required. (5-10%)
•Monitors and responds to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provides primary interface with vendor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
•Provides documentation for the support of information technology processes and procedures.
•Assists in the research and implementation of system administration software and hardware.
•Develops programs to support application and system operations.
•Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning.
•Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and EnvironmentEducation and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science or related technical field or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.) A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required.
Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:* Five years related experience in Mainframe, Windows or UNIX operating systems support and analysis
Demonstrated skills such as:* Effective oral and written communication skills.
•Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Prefeffed experience in the following:* Comprehensive knowledge and technical background with Microsoft Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
•Experience leveraging a configuration management solution to manage Windows Servers in a large enterprise environment.
•Strong PowerShell scripting skills to automate system administration tasks efficiently.
•Familiarity with Microsoft monthly patching procedures and best practices in maintaining a secure, updated infrastructure.
•BMC TrueSight Server Automation (TSSA) tool experience is preferred.
•Virtualization technologies: Proven experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Azure for efficient management of resources, deployment, and configuration of virtual machines in large-scale enterprise environments.
•Networking and Windows server management: Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) as they relate to Windows Server environments. Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving network connectivity issues, including domain-related problems, DNS configurations, and server-client communication within a Windows Server infrastructure.
•Analytical and troubleshooting skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Proven experience in troubleshooting network, server, and application problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance in a Windows Server environment.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $103,800 (Min) to $122,000 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
