Snowline Gold Corp (Snowline) is a mineral exploration company with a focus on projects in the Yukon Territory, Canada. Snowline’s primary exploration and development project is the Rogue Project, approximately 220 km east of Mayo and 195 km north of Ross River near the Northwest Territories border, which hosts Snowline’s Valley Gold Deposit. We aim to build a leading exploration and development company setting new standards in social and environmental responsibility.
Reporting to the Vice President of Sustainability & External Relations, the Sustainability Coordinator will play an important role supporting a variety of sustainability, social performance and community relations initiatives integral to Snowline’s work.
The ideal candidate will have a primary residence in Whitehorse, YT or in any of the rural Yukon communities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous Nations and local communities, aligned with Snowline’s values.
- Support all Snowline initiatives and activities working collaboratively with Indigenous Nations and local communities.
- Coordinate and document meetings with government entities, Indigenous Nations, external and internal stakeholders including scheduling, minute-taking, and tracking follow up actions.
- Ensure accurate records of all engagement and consultation activities are maintained to support Project assessment and permitting with the Yukon Environmental Assessment Board (YESAB).
- Maintain and manage social performance and sustainability data, including engagement records and community feedback channels.
- Support the development of various project communication materials including newsletters, fact sheets, social media updates and posters.
- Work with the Human Resources and Project teams on training, hiring and procurement initiatives with Indigenous Nations and local communities.
- Support the development and successful integration of Company policies, standards and industry best practices.
- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Indigenous Governance, or a related field (strong asset).
- Experience working with Indigenous Nations and local communities (strong asset).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, organizational and project coordination skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel and hold a valid Yukon Class 5 driver’s license (or willingness to obtain within the first 6 months of employment).
- A positive attitude, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
