The Instrument Operator assists the Party Chief with various tasks and oversees operating the required equipment, including the most current GPS. This person is expected to accurately collect field data using said equipment.
- Must be able to read a plat or a metes and bounds legal description.
- Must learn field codes specific to Percheron.
- Responsible for cutting line.
- Must make sure the truck is fully equipped every day.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of Safe work methods, Land survey terminology and Field survey methods and techniques.
- Skilled in using complex optical and electronic instruments.
- Skilled in using computers and related software.
- Ability to read graphic instructions, read construction plans and specifications.
- Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Must have a valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Spends 100% of time the in a field environment.
- Is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- Is required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Is required to lift and/or move up to forty five pounds.
