Summary
The Supply Chain Team Lead plays a critical role in supporting the Director of Procurement by overseeing a team of Supply Chain Coordinators across multiple business units and locations. This position ensures timely and accurate supplier collaboration, alignment with internal stakeholders, and fulfillment of customer expectations. The Team Lead is responsible for managing team performance, training, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives, while also maintaining select operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and prioritize the workload of the Supply Chain Coordinator team to ensure timely supplier communication, ERP updates, and customer responsiveness.
- Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members, ensuring high-quality outputs and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Lead onboarding and training for new hires, ensuring comprehensive understanding of supply chain processes, systems, and communication protocols.
- Facilitate ongoing product and technology training to enhance team capabilities in supplier collaboration and expediting.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify development opportunities, and provide coaching to drive individual and team success.
- Address performance gaps and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Application Supervisors, Branch Managers, Production and Warehouse Managers, and other key personnel.
- Act as a liaison between the Supply Chain team and internal customers to resolve issues and manage escalations effectively.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of new tools and processes that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain select supply chain coordinator responsibilities to stay connected to day-to-day operations.
- Investigate and support resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and customer complaints related to supplier performance.
- Uphold confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in handling sensitive business and personnel matters.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field; equivalent technical certification considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain operations, with a proven track record of addressing business and customer needs.
- Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with LEAN principles and process optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Effective communication skills across remote and in-person environments. Must be able to travel up to 15% and have a clear driving record in accordance with company driving guidelines
