Reporting to: Manager, Gas Distribution Design & Delivery
The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $94,000 to $118,000 plus up to 16% bonus
Supervises employees in the construction, operations and maintenance of gas distribution and transmission systems. Oversees, plans, and schedules new construction work, preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and training activities. Ensures that construction and maintenance activities are completed in accordance with construction standards, following approved policies, procedures, safety rules, and budgets. Frequent interaction with customers (internal & external) to solve problems/concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Supervises Company employees and inspects subcontractor crews; in the construction, operation, and maintenance of gas distribution systems to ensure system integrity and public safety.
- Plans, schedules and directs new and replacement gas construction work, preventive maintenance work, inspects and performs corrective maintenance on gas facilities and provides safety training to the construction crews.
- Ensures that construction and maintenance is completed in accordance with construction standards, following approved policies, procedures and safety rules.
- Frequent interaction with customers (internal & external) to solve problems/concerns and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Prepares damage reports, company accident reports and other paperwork necessary to complete jobs and account for work completed.
- Reviews and signs as needed as-built drawings, leak repair reports, time sheets, contractor extra reports and other paperwork as necessary to assure Company records are accurate and completed paperwork is properly processed in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of underground gas construction, properties of natural gas, bargaining unit labor agreements, gas leak detection methods and procedures, CBYD regulations, State and Federal pipeline safety regulations; Hazmat, and OSHA are preferred.
- Ability to read construction maps and drawings, mechanical ability, oral and written communication skills,
- Organization and planning skills are required.
- Candidate must have a valid driver’s license.
- Role requires various DOT Operator Qualifications.
- Must be available for response during after-hours to work storms, emergencies, and critical assignments.
- On-Call rotational assignment required.

- Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of underground Construction and Maintenance experience
- Associate’s degree with 7 or more years of underground Construction and Maintenance experience
- High School diploma with 10 or more years of Construction & Maintenance experience.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Supervisory experience of a union and non-union workforce is preferred.
