This job is ONSITE in the Rochester, NY and Syracuse, NY area. Travel between two job sites required.
Telyon is seeking a Construction Superintendent in the Rochester and Syracuse, NY areas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the successful execution of commercial and industrial solar installation projects. They will lead a team of skilled technicians and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality and safety.
· Supervise the areas under construction and make sure that all customer and Telyon requirements are followed at all times.
· Monitor and supervise delivery of equipment and transportation to the roof.
· Track project progress and adjust plans as needed to address any issues or changes.
· Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while meeting quality and safety standards.
· Supervise electrical subcontractors and other trades involved in the installation.
· Supervise employees performing quality inspections and safety inspections.
· Lead site meetings to review progress and address issues that come up during construction.
· Foster a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork among the project team.
· Implement and maintain high-quality standards in all project activities.
· Promote a culture of safety and ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed on-site.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
· Communicate project progress, address client concerns, and provide regular updates.
· Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, change orders, and permits.
· Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
· Computer skills – Microsoft Office, Procore, and OneNote.
· Strong communication skills, both spoken and written.
· Proven experience as a Superintendent in the solar industry or a related field.
· Thorough knowledge of commercial and industrial solar installation processes.
· Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and permitting requirements.
· Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
· OSHA 30, NFPA70E training required. (Can train otherwise qualified candidate)
· Pass background check as required by clients.
