Summary
The Production Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily plant or field production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role provides leadership to production teams, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, and collaborates with other departments to meet operational goals and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate production staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining product quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Promote a strong safety culture by enforcing company policies, conducting inspections, and leading safety meetings.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to minimize downtime and maximize output.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to team members to develop skills and foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations and standards.
- Prepare production reports and communicate performance, issues, and recommendations to management.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance product quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in production, manufacturing, or industrial operations with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.- Strong knowledge of safety standards, production processes, and quality control.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with production management systems.
- Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
- Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
