The Superintendent, Production reports directly to the Manager, Production. This position will be responsible for overseeing and directing multiple teams in the operation of the LNG liquefaction and Storage/ Loading areas. The Superintendent, Production will be responsible for developing strategies, work plans, and procedures to carry out the safe operation of the facilities. They will participate in all aspects of operations, including, but not limited to, budgeting, scheduling, planning, purchasing, training, and staffing. Must possess good working knowledge of environmental, Federal, and State regulations; in order to assist the Cheniere environmental, regulatory, and commercial departments as needs arise. They will be required to fill in for the Manager, Production in his absence and perform other duties, which may include conducting training, assisting in regulatory audits, providing technical advice, assisting in the preparation of presentations and technical reports, as well as interpreting data within these reports. The Superintendent, Production will work with the Scheduler to ensure that all daily operational quotas are met, turnaround needs are properly distributed, and that ample workforce is available for future events.
Possess a high level of understanding of LNG transportation, storage, and processing, including safety, environmental, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations, and associated codes and standards. Understand the various applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, codes, standards, and permits required to operate an LNG terminal and pipeline facilities. Understand the physical properties of LNG, its processing, and emergency response to any situation, including releases. The Superintendent, Production must be accustomed to plant and industrial surroundings, including process and support equipment, DCS systems, SCADA systems, and Pipeline operations. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills along with the ability to convey knowledge to the operational teams and staff. Must have a working knowledge of essential tools used for performing the administrative tasks necessary to have continued safe and reliable operations; these include but are not limited to Word, Excel, PI (Trending tool), PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Incident Reporting tools.
Education and Certifications* : High School diploma required. A Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or relevant work experience in operations, maintenance, or safety in support of an LNG, gas processing, and/or transportation facility is preferred. Must be CPR, First Aid certified, and have knowledge of emergency procedures. Experience* : 10+ years of experience in the area of specialization, with a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in operations, maintenance, safety, or environmental compliance experience for LNG and/or large natural gas infrastructure facilities is preferred. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Demonstrates personal characteristics of integrity, accountability, and dependability. The Superintendent, Production has a high degree of aptitude in their field and requires minimal supervision. Directs facility operations in the absence of the Manager, Production.
