Our internship program is designed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience for professional growth and development.
We’re seeking motivated and high-performing students to join our Engineering team for Summer 2026 in El Paso, TX. This hybrid internship offers a dynamic blend of in-office and remote work, giving interns exposure to real-world engineering functions, processes, and field operations.
Interns will work on impactful projects, collaborate with professionals across departments, and participate in networking events with peers and company leadership.
Coordinate, assist, and/or perform engineering activities related to the design, operation, and maintenance of company pipelines, regulator stations, meter sets, and related facilities.
Help with project coordination among area regions, departments (Customer Development, Operations, Customer Services, governmental agencies, other stakeholders), and contractors including:
Projects pre-requisites; such as, permitting, alignment and routing evaluation, conflicts analysis, review of existing conditions, and other related due diligence and coordination needed to prepare the design.
Provide technical and/or engineering assistance to management, employees, governmental/regulatory personnel, contractors, customers, and others on matters including but not limited to:
- Meter and regulator settings
- Equipment/system design
- Pipeline sizes
- Pipeline modeling
- Database analyses
- Growth planning
- Emergency valve isolation plans for pipeline systems
- Policies and procedures
Review, summarize, and assist in preparation of information including but not limited to:
- Engineering studies
- Pipeline bid proposals
- Construction contracts
- Status/activity reports
- Job orders
- Purchase requisitions
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering, preferably graduating in December 2026 or May 2027.
- Maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Involved in extracurricular activities, community service, or leadership roles.
- Experienced through prior internships, part-time jobs, or volunteer work.

Compensation: All ONE Gas internship positions are paid. We offer a fair and competitive pay rate.
