Job Description
Located out of our Calgary office, the individual in the Student, Transportation Systems will report to the Manager, Commercial and Marketing Applications within the Information Technology (IT) department.
As a member of the IT Commercial and Marketing Applications team, the Student, Transportation Systems will be responsible for collaborating with business stakeholders and end users to resolve issues, maintain systems and optimize the use of transportation systems:
Pipeline Systems
•AVEVA Commercial Advisor (aka OVAL)
•IPL Oil Scheduling System (OSS)
Rail Systems
PCMiler
Truck Systems
Key Activities and Responsibilities
End User Support
•Technical Support: Provide first and second-level technical support to transportation system users, addressing and resolving system issues, inquiries, and service requests promptly.
•Integration Support: Collaborate with other technical teams to ensure seamless integration between transportation systems and other systems, data sources, and applications.
•Incident Management: Document and track incidents and support requests, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with end-users.
•Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve problems related to the Transportation system, including configuration issues, data discrepancies, and integration challenges.
•User Training: Train Transportation system users on best practices, system functionality, and utilization techniques to optimize their workflow.
Bug Fixes
•Configuration Management: Assist in the configuration and customization of the Transportation system to align with the specific needs and requirements of the organization.
•Testing: Participate in testing activities, including user acceptance testing (UAT) and quality assurance to validate system changes, enhancements, and upgrades.
Documentation
•Business Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of business processes, operational procedures, and end user training materials.
•Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, issue resolutions, and end IT support materials.
Education, Skills and Experience
•Working towards a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
•Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with end-users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive tasks.
•Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality support and service.
•Demonstrable knowledge of the Canadian energy industry is a plus

Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day
Summer Student term till end of August 2025
