This posting is for Mechanical engineering student positions in Calgary. After submitting your application, you will receive a screening questionnaire within 3 weeks, where you can indicate your preferences.


Possible placement includes:

Asset Integrity : The Integrity Co-op Student at Husky Midstream General Partnership (HMGP) will support the pipeline in-line inspection (ILI) program, manage technical data, and contribute to threat management and asset care strategies.

Conventional: offers engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing pressure equipment data and supporting inspection programs in a real-world operational setting. Students will work with industry-standard tools like PCMS and SAP while learning how asset integrity supports safe and reliable operations.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities may vary depending on the specific position assigned to, but they may include:


Asset Integrity

Assist with project management activities, technical analysis, and record management for pipeline inspections.
Process, compile, and integrate integrity records into asset-based frameworks, including updates to PLACS and slope management summaries.
Track program deliverables and analyze pressure cycling data to support integrity decision-making.


Conventional

Maintain and update technical records for pressure safety valves, vessels, and tanks in the PCMS database, supporting the overall asset integrity program.
Collaborate with asset integrity specialists to analyze data, manage documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in mechanical integrity workflows.
Participate in safety meetings and help apply engineering principles to support risk mitigation, safe operating procedures, and the Management of Change (MOC) process.


Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa).
Available to begin work in September 2025.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Solid analytical and Microsoft Suite skills, specifically Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, judgement, and decision-making skills.

Education

Must be enrolled in a mechanical or chemical engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
