Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role or lead hand. (Other candidates may be considered but an extensive portfolio will need to be shared of completed jobs).*
* Journeyman ironworker ticket a valuable asset and will be given preference
* Must reside in Alberta (preference will be given to candidates living in the greater Calgary area).
* Must have a valid Driver's License and an active mobile phone with data.
* Must be capable of physical work, including the operation of a variety of power tools, lifting 25 kg on a regular basis.
* Must be willing to be transported to work location by a variety of modes, including air, ground, boat, public, and private.
* $120,000+ per year (Pay will depend on work experience)
*Work in remote locations for up to 14 days at a time, as required.
* Typical work days may be longer, 10-12 hours.
* Overtime is provided after 44 hours per week.
* Living Out Allowance (LOA) is paid weekly for time spent away from Calgary.
* Establish goals and objectives for employees, ensuring their performance aligns with these targets.
* Create team schedules and delegate tasks to ensure proper and safe workflow.
* Monitor employee performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Assess employee performance and provide performance reviews to senior management.
* Ensure team members meet deadlines for key projects and tasks.
* Address any concerns or issues identified by team members.
* Provide training and oversee the orientation of new employees to familiarize them with company policies and procedures.
* Maintain an in-depth understanding and knowledge of site procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine project specifications and requirements.
* Ability to lead teams in assembling structural metal projects, such as steel frameworks or beams, using welding techniques.
* Possess mechanical knowledge and a strong understanding of construction principles.
* Erect and install structural steel components according to project plans and specifications.
* Proficiency in operating a telehandler and forklift.
* Collaborate effectively with team members to keep work on schedule.
* Utilize Corfix software, which will need to be accessed from your mobile device.
*Comply with and enforce relevant codes to ensure safe operations and minimize penalties.
* Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations.
* Stay updated on job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
* Enhance organizational reputation by taking ownership of new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
