Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Structural Steel Detailer
to join our growing team. This role is responsible for creating accurate fabrication and erection drawings for structural and miscellaneous steel components based on architectural and structural design plans. The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software, and a strong understanding of AISC standards. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project success through high-quality drafting, attention to detail, and collaboration with project teams.
Key Responsibilities
•Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings.
•Create and manage erection, approval, permit, and anchor rod drawings.
•Develop and upload parts into the manufacturing system and release to production.
•Collaborate with managers, and shop personnel to resolve design or fabrication challenges.
•Ensure drawings comply with AISC standards and client specifications.
•Maintain schedule commitments to support timely project completion.
•Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
•Participate in team meetings to review project progress and technical issues.
Qualifications & Skills
•Minimum 2–5 years of experience in structural and/or miscellaneous steel detailing.
AISC steel construction standards and detailing guidelines

AutoCAD
is required; experience with
SolidWorks
,
Tekla
, or
Rhinoceros 3D
is highly preferred.
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Excellent verbal and written communication.
•Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.
•Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, email, PDF/image management software, and internet applications.
Preferred Experience
•Previous experience detailing steel components for
industrial, commercial, or manufacturing facilities
.
•Familiarity with fabrication shop practices and manufacturing systems.
•Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative project team.
