Structural Fitter

Fitters & Fabricators Capitol Engineering- Structural Steel Fitter Position Available-

Capitol Engineering is an established and expanding custom fabrication company delivering high quality engineered & fabricated steel products to a wide variety of industries including mining, agriculture, and general industrial applications. Capitol Engineering was established in 1937 and located in downtown Phoenix AZ. We are currently growing at a rapid pace and are looking to add experienced and qualified welders/fabricators to our production team.

This position requires an experienced, energetic, detail-focused individual that wants to be part of a growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding FCAW & GMAW methods. This position will require you to work as part of a large team and individually on smaller projects as required. All candidates will be required to pass a comprehensive weld test prior to employment.

Duties/Minimum Qualifications:

· Interpret fabrication drawings, lay out, and fit structural members per engineered drawings.

· Fitter positions will require individuals to be experienced working with standard metal working equipment including shears, iron workers, saws, grinders, chipping hammers, welding equipment.

· Perform standard shop math (add, subtract, multiply & divide)

· Maintain a clean, safe and organized workspace.

· Ability to lift 50lbs without assistance

· Work as part of a team and have a good attitude

· 40+ hour work weeks with work on Saturdays when required

· Reliable transportation for punctual attendance

Desired Qualifications:

· 2+ years experience fitting structural steel.

· Detail Oriented self-starter

· Experience operating a forklift

· Experience operating overhead and gantry cranes

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
