We’re seeking a highly motivated Strategic Sourcing Analyst with strong technical acumen in mechanical and plumbing systems to support material and equipment procurement for multi-family and commercial projects nationwide. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience performing detailed mechanical package buyouts, interpreting construction drawings and specifications, and collaborating with project teams to align procurement strategies with design intent and installation requirements. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in St. Petersburg, FL.
position details/responsibilities…
•Lead mechanical and plumbing equipment/material buyouts for multi-family and commercial construction projects across the U.S.
•Review construction documents, mechanical schedules, and submittal packages to ensure material compliance and technical accuracy.
•Partner with internal teams (operations, VDC, engineering, project management) and external stakeholders (manufacturers, reps, distributors) to source and vet appropriate equipment.
•Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers, ensuring alignment with project budgets and schedules.
•Proactively manage vendor relationships and drive adherence to national supplier agreements.
•Support development of scopes of work, sourcing strategies, and supplier selection criteria based on technical merit and value.
•Conduct bid analysis and cost comparisons using Excel and procurement databases.
•Drive continuous improvement in the sourcing process, including updating templates, capturing historical pricing, and integrating alternate product options.
•Coordinate technical review of quotes with internal SMEs and assist with RFIs where clarification is needed.
•Serve as a subject matter resource on mechanical systems, helping ensure procurement aligns with construction execution.
here’s what we’re looking for…
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or related technical discipline preferred.
•3–5 years of experience in construction procurement or mechanical equipment sourcing, ideally in a contractor or subcontractor environment.
•Familiarity with mechanical/plumbing systems, including HVAC, piping, hydronic systems, pumps, and valves.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with takeoff tools or procurement software is a plus.
•Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills with the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and submittals.
•Ability to manage multiple buyouts across projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
