This is a strategic role that plays a vital role in shaping the organization’s strategy, fostering innovation, and ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the distributed energy revolution. This position is hybrid: a mix of remote work and 30% travel to meet with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage, nurture, and convert leads to sales opportunities, leveraging your network of industrial and commercial partners and end-users in addition to leads sourced by you
•Collaborate with partners to identify, develop and progress sales opportunities
•Develop and present tailored proposals for customers and partners, that demonstrate how distributed energy solutions can reduce utility costs, increase energy resiliency and reduce GHG emissions using financial modelling and presentations of our solutions
•Undertake market analysis to identify prevailing trends, growth opportunities, underserved market segments, and strategies for leveraging energy pricing dynamics within each market
•Build relationships with key industry stakeholders (technology providers, equipment suppliers, engineering firms, industry associations and customers) to position the organization as a leader in distributed energy solutions
•Stay informed about advancements in distributed energy technologies, including CHP systems, solar PV, battery storage, EV charging infrastructure, and grid management solutions
Qualifications:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in an energy sales role for energy
•A pre-existing network of relevant professional contacts with relevant industries
•Familiar with energy grants and utility incentive programs
•Understanding of pricing and billing practices for electric and gas utilities
•Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
•Effective communication, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities
•Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently and as part of a remote team
•Experience selling to the Solar, HVAC or data center market is a plus
