Storeroom Clerk 1

BASIC FUNCTION

:

Sort and store incoming materials in an orderly fashion in Storeroom, warehouses, and outdoor secured area; distribute as requested to appropriate personnel; assist personnel in finding correct materials; maintain computerized inventory control system; assist Head Receiving and Shipping Coordinator in day-to-day receiving functions. Provide quality customer service for all customers (internal and external), ensuring all procedures are followed.

NATURE & SCOPE

:

Under the guidance of the Routine Facilitator, must be knowledgeable of certain safety requirements so proper protective equipment can be issued. Notes trends in most and least used items, reliability, and longevity of certain supplies. May recommend changing suppliers, vendors, reorder points, maximum quantities on hand, etc. Must be aware of the location of material stored outside the immediate Storeroom area and the other warehouses. This position is part of a team that is responsible for over $3 million of inventory in the Storeroom that is critical to the operations of this plant. Proper control of the Storeroom inventory is essential to minimize downtime.
