This individual is responsible for maintaining the control of inventory within the stock room and the cage area.
- Receive and count stock items and record the data.
- Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockroom or warehouses.
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
- Keep records on the use and/or damage of stocks or stock handling equipment.
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
- Dispose of damaged of defective items, or return them to vendors.
- Drive fork truck in order to pick up incoming stock or to deliver parts to designated locations.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, shortages.
- Involves lifting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Perform tool and part cycle counts at regular intervals to ensure the correctness of inventory levels.
- Records which tools, parts, seals, bearings, etc., are going to which job for later entry into visual.
- Attends monthly safety and/or training meetings.
- Observes all shop required safety regulations
- Signs for packages, delivers packages to correct locations and creates an inventory sheet of parts incoming for the supervisor to adjust into stock
- Assists the outfitting and motor assembly area with keeping fasteners and wiring parts stocked
- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
