About This Job

Klein Reinforcing Services is one of the largest suppliers/fabricators of reinforcing bars in Rochester and the surrounding areas. We offer bar products and specialized services across WNY and are looking to add a Steel Detailer to our servicing team.

This position is responsible for accurately detailing Rebar according to contract drawings, specifications, and Reinforcing Steel Manual of Standard Practices.

Job Responsibilities

•

Produce structural take-offs by examining drawings from engineers and/or architects to determine the requirements of reinforcing steel to support concrete structures

•

Provide clear, accurate and concise 2D rebar shop drawings on CAD.

•

Produce detail sheets with accurate remarks for installers. Produce placing drawings as required.

•

Produce work orders for fabrication and coordinate with the customer to schedule initial deliveries of material to the job site.

•

Scheduling deliveries of material to the job site.

•

Handle the occasional scheduling of installers

•

Review of drawings and identifying any changes from Tender to Construction issues and entering of above changes or any changes/revisions into software for pricing.

•

Identifying any ‘specialty’ material required at the start of the project for early ordering of this material.

•

Work closely with customers to achieve the highest level of service.

•

Track progress of projects and be proactive in regards to scheduling.

•

Request all information that is required to detail Rebar correctly, e.g. Elevations, pour break locations, etc.

•

Assist in coordination of shipments and load schedules, including appropriate documentation.

•

Adhere to all company policies and procedures, Health & Safety rules and regulations.

•

Commitment toward being a team player, stepping in when required and overall attitude toward team environment, willingness to do whatever task is asked.

Preferred Qualifications

•

Post-Secondary education in a Construction or Architectural Engineering Program.

•

1-3 years experience as a Reinforcing Steel Detailer (or similar).

•

Skilled in AutoCAD, Microsoft (Excel), Microstation - ASA (Applied System Associates)

•

Knowledge of Reinforcing Steel Manual of Standard Practices is an asset.

•

Experience in 3D detailing programs is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
