Veris Inc., a division of Armstrong International is currently seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team in Frederick, Colorado. We are looking for a self-starter, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a small engineering team while working with management and interfacing with other Armstrong divisions. This engineering position will be involved in various projects and work responsibilities; from product development and testing, directly supporting customers, maintaining departmental budgets, creating/meeting KPI’s and supporting our manufacturing efforts as well. The Staff Engineer will also support the efforts of the Sales team with expertise and special designs. - Product development of flow measurement products
- Manage projects and support the sales team when necessary
- Process and complete change orders for design improvements and cost reductions
- Be familiar and use ASME BPV design codes
- Create and maintain engineering and sales drawings using SolidWorks
- Use SolidWorks CFD and FEA software for design analysis
- Review and create designs, technical documents, test procedures, work instructions
- Work in the ERP system to create and maintain part numbers, assemblies and BOMs.
- Support special order requests, manufacturing processes
- Support and help acquire product approvals including FM, PED, ATEX, CRN etc.
- Use in-house 3D printing resources
- Manage and support flow and QA testing activities
- Participate in root cause/corrective action activities (for Corrective Actions related to design/analysis issues)
- Foster and promote Armstrong Culture and core values
- Foster a culture of design for manufacturing and assembly
- Assess development/training opportunities within the department and cross-departmentally
- Have hands on involvement in inter & intra-company training programs and initiatives

- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with technical writing/reviewing for both internal and external use
- Effective and efficient organizational and planning skills
- Utilize office software tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, effectively
- Apply strong analytical skills, including knowledge of physics (statics and dynamics), calculus, and statistics.
- Have a basic understanding of welding processes, including WPS, PQR, AWS, and welding symbols
- Self-starter with the ability to see projects through with a can-do attitude

- Desired Education and Experience
- Experience in the Flow Measurement Industry
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent engineering experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in flow related activities like testing or product development
- 2-3 years of experience in program and/or project management
- Experience working in ISO 9001 environment or similar quality program
- Experience with Design Reviews, Drawings, and Technical Documents
- Experience with SolidWorks or other CAD software packages
- Ability to perform CFD analysis using SolidWorks Flow Simulation or other
- Experience testing and calibrating flow meters
- Experience with SolidWorks EPDM or other product data management systems
- Experience with ABAS or other ERP/MRP Systems
- Experience with ASME B31.1/B31.3 or other ASME BPV design basis’
- Good working knowledge of welding and machining with CNC Mills and Lathes
- Some manufacturing engineering experience
