OVERVIEW The Staff Accountant is a full-time position responsible for maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are accurately recorded. This role supports the accounting team in preparing balance sheet reconciliations, recording journal entries, and preparing financial reports. The Staff Accountant will also handle various accounting tasks and special projects as assigned.

What Will I Do?
•Prepare and reconcile invoices and sales transactions.
•Record journal entries and complete bank reconciliations.
•Assist in the month-end and year-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations.
•Organize and file credit card statements and backup information.
•Enter deposits, including financing deposits.
•Prepare cash forecasts and manage collections on past due and current accounts.
•Process new vendor applications and enter sales data into various spreadsheets.
•Enter vendor invoices and balance vendor statements.
•Maintain general ledger and ensure electronic recordkeeping is up to date.
•Monitor open accounts receivable.
•Handle accounting errands, including trips to the bank and post office.
•Assist with special projects as assigned, including preparing and assisting with external audit schedules.
•Processing membership accounts.

•This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Language, Math and Reasoning
•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in on and one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
•Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
•Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
•CPA or working towards CPA certification is preferred but not required.
COMPUTER SKILLS
•Basic to intermediate skills in Microsoft Windows, including Word and Excel.
•Ability to type 60-65 wpm
