The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest.

Responsibilities
The counselor reports to the Head of Prevention, Health and Safety. His main responsibilities are:
•Ensure due diligence through the application of occupational health and safety regulations and other safety elements and measures.
•Develop and promote a culture of prevention within the supervision team and with the workers;
•Develop, communicate and audit current programs;
•Collaborate in the development of training sessions on various topics related to prevention;
•Propose and implement initiatives to improve the safety performance;
•Support the various managers during the development and implementation of new projects;
•Conduct various thematic or planned inspections and propose and follow up on corrective actions;
•Support managers during event investigations and implementation of corrective measures.
•Carry out investigations into incidents.
Qualifications
•DEC in Occupational Health and Safety or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or other combination of experience and knowledge related to the position;
•2 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position (or combination of work experience and training);
•Recent experience in underground mining will be considered a significant asset;
•Knowledge of the H&S Laws and Regulations in Quebec. Regulation respecting health and safety in mines;
•Drilling and blasting, control of hazardous energies, confined spaces, working at heights, hot work, lockout, machine protection, safety of heavy equipment, etc.
•Have a valid explosive permit.
Assets and skills
•Bilingual (French and English);
•Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
•Possess FMTM modules 1 to 5 and 7;
•Experience in underground mining;
•Work with a diverse and multicultural team.

•Ability to work under pressure and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
