POSITION OVERVIEW
•Responsible for the safety, environmental compliance, production, costs, quality, people and projects in the Mine Truck Maintenance Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Provide safety leadership and responsibility in the Mine Truck Maintenance Department.
•Know, understand and enforce all applicable local, state and federal health/safety and environmental regulations.
•Ensure environmental compliance in the Mine Truck Maintenance Department.
•Provide input to the Maintenance Manager for developing the expense budget and capital forecast.
•Coaches and counsels direct reports to provide continuous feedback on performance
•Communicates and interprets company/departmental directives to direct reports and monitors compliance
•Observe current maintenance procedures and develop improved procedures
•Monitor the day-to-day Mine Truck Maintenance Department activities.
•Meet and maintain equipment availability targets at Mission Mine.
•Meet and maintain operating costs for the Mine Truck Maintenance Department.
•Direct and support the activities of Mine Truck Maintenance Department Supervisors (and others, as deemed necessary, e.g. mark-up supervisors, leadmen).
•Develop/train/educate employees for future growth and promotion.
•Work in partnership with other departments at Mission Mine, to optimize safety, environmental compliance, production, costs, and quality.
•Foster a cohesive working relationship with the local unions to ensure effective and efficient operation.
•Must be able to manage employee issues through set Company policies and provisions within the collective bargaining agreement
•Participates in the company labor relations and disciplinary action programs. Identifies, evaluates and resolves work problems.
•Participate in committees or special projects as needed.
•Effectively administer Department and Company policies and procedures.
•Help develop and implement capital and operating projects to improve the Mine Truck Maintenance Department/Mission Mine/Company performance.
•Reviews maintenance plans for safety considerations, completion window, a detailed task list, estimated manpower, and tool requirements.
•Refines planned component replacement (PCR) intervals, routine job plans and major project plans, including development of SOPs.
•Recommends actions plans to address repetitive and catastrophic component failures. Reviews field investigation reports and failure analysis results to maintain records for the programs performance evaluation.
•Develops and monitors work group key performance indicators (KPIs).
•Creates and administers testing programs for evaluation purposes.
•Assists with the development of one-year and five-year departmental cost and equipment forecasts.
•Monitor and analyze all unplanned maintenance.
•Ability to write technical reports, letters, memos and capital expenditure requests.
•Responsible for executing, supporting, and enforcing the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety program as required by OIS policy, directives, and principles.
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•In addition to basic general maintenance knowledge, must have an excellent knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and ability to read all schematics.
•Must be fully familiar with the maintenance of CAT and Komatsu equipment.
•Must have a working knowledge of diesel engines.
•The ability to perform maintenance planning, project management and predictive management is desirable.
•Must have good computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and knowledge of Kronos, and SAP a plus.
•Must demonstrate the highest commitment to health/safety and environmental compliance.
•Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with employees, other supervisors and managers.
•Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building.
•Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
•Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
•Must have valid driver's license.
•Must be willing to travel 10%.
•Must be able to perform fieldwork, walk over rough terrain, sit, stand, bend, crawl under equipment, and climb stairs/ladders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•Requires at least four (4) years of maintenance and supervisory experience demonstrating continuous upward momentum in managerial leadership.
