Position Highlights
The Stations Maintenance Engineering Division provides operational support and maintenance engineering services for
both Generation and Transmission Stations assets. Our group is comprised of 7 teams covering civil, electrical, mechanical,
and protection & control disciplines. Whether through maintenance program development, equipment failure analysis,
assessment of critical asset health, equipment forced outage response, or a myriad of other duties, our contributions are
critical for the safe and reliable operation of BC Hydro's power system while meeting the requirements of system planners,
regulators, customers, and other stakeholders.
The Stations Maintenance – Generation Electrical team provides predictive maintenance, electrical maintenance and
technical expertise to BC Hydro Generating Stations for the following equipment: hydro and turbo generators, rotating
exciters, slip rings and brush gear, power transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, isophase bus, bus bar and
terminal equipment.
The Stations Maintenance – Generation Electrical team has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior-level
Engineer with predictive maintenance and data analytics experience to join a team of dedicated professionals based at the
BC Hydro Edmonds office.
This position requires a broad range of engineering knowledge including process, electrical and mechanical engineering as
well as an individual with practical skills in extracting value from a variety of value-added data types. The SmartSignal
Senior Engineer will primarily work with subject matter experts, maintenance engineers, external industry leaders in the field
of Predictive Maintenance (PdM), as well as software suppliers and developers.
