This role is focused on enhancing subsurface outcomes through data-driven analysis and performance monitoring while also providing modeling support to evaluate subsurface technologies and development strategies.
How You Will Contribute To MEG’s Success
•Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and development of subsurface technologies and resource recovery schemes (eMSAGP, well spacing, completions designs) to achieve low SOR in combination with highest achievable recovery
•Participate in regular cross-discipline reviews of SAGD pad performance; generate action plans to execute workovers and redevelopment opportunities and optimize steam allocation
•Leverage reservoir monitoring data to manage impacts of thief zones and optimize development (4D, observation wells, aquifer/gas cap, manage gas cap pressures)
•Conduct planning, well design, technical concept approval and drilling support for redevelopment and/or new pad opportunities, in collaboration with Geoscience, Production, and Development teams
•Conduct program lookbacks and reappraisals to inform future development practices.
•Perform technical reservoir studies to enable analysis of development scenarios; use various techniques such as data driven models, analogues and simulation methods to predict performance
•Develop reservoir simulation models that integrate field data and reservoir characteristics to evaluate wellbore configurations, hydraulics and operating strategies
•Perform long term forecasting for SAGD wells; review and validate forecasts to analogues, integrate learnings from existing well performance
•Provide subject matter expertise on SAGD well design
•Contribute to corporate strategic processes and budgeting
•Identify and evaluate subsurface technology for application across MEG’s resource; monitor and report on subsurface technologies
