Job Objective:
The Senior Process Engineer – Operations Optimization serves as a subject matter expert for midstream operations, integrating long-term engineering strategy with day-to-day system performance. This role blends strategic capital project oversight with operational leadership, providing guidance for troubleshooting, outage planning, optimization, and volume management across gathering, compression, and processing assets. The engineer will serve as the focal point for daily operating plans, real-time system decisions, and field alignment, ensuring commercial and operational goals are met efficiently and reliably.
The position supports internal teams—including Operations, Gas Control, Scheduling, Commercial, and Business Development—and helps lead major capital and optimization initiatives, asset integration, and long-term strategic improvements.
- Lead cross-functional technical efforts to optimize reliability, throughput, and efficiency across midstream infrastructure.
- Oversee full lifecycle project engineering—from conceptual development through detailed design, cost estimating, construction, and commissioning.
- Serve as senior engineering representative for high-impact capital projects, regulatory compliance strategies, and M&A evaluations.
- Guide third-party engineering firms and internal design teams, ensuring alignment with technical and business priorities.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support technical development across departments.
- Represent the company in technical discussions with external partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Present technical findings, system KPIs, and capital progress to executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the daily operating plan across plants, compressors, and gathering assets.
- Understand compressor and plant limits; coordinate changes with foremen and Gas Control based on real-time conditions.
- Lead morning operations meetings and deliver written flow plans and operating guidance to the control room.
- Communicate operating constraints and goals clearly to all stakeholders, including bounds for system adjustments.
- Troubleshoot gathering system issues, preempt operational disruptions, and support Foremen with proactive diagnostics.
- Optimize fuel use, compression strategies, and liquid recoveries to maximize value to Harvest.
- Coordinate with Scheduling and Operations Managers to manage maintenance outages with minimal volume impact.
- Integrate new gas supply, economic shifts, and future project impacts into daily and weekly operations strategy.

- Collaborate cross-functionally to support reliability, performance excellence, and capital efficiency.
- Contribute ideas for system improvement, cost savings, and adaptation to market or operational changes.- 10+ years of oil and gas/process engineering experience, with direct involvement in field operations and control room collaboration.
- Strong experience with Promax, HYSYS hydraulic modeling, and data-driven operations.
- Proven leader in process safety, HAZOP/LOPA facilitation, and PSM compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize daily system performance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience briefing executive audiences.
- Comfortable balancing strategic engineering priorities with urgent operational realities.
- Willing to travel up to 25% to support field operations.
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- Professional Engineers license, strongly preferred.
