Overall Responsibility:

The Sr. Product Development Engineer leads complex product development programs with a strong focus on execution, mentoring, and strategic alignment. This role combines high-level engineering analysis, hands-on project support, and leadership in mentoring PD Engineers to drive innovation, meet customer expectations, and achieve organizational objectives.


Accountabilities:

- Mentor and coach PD Engineers to enhance their skills in customer products, AMTB, OEM design, stamping, and assembly processes.

- Support PD Managers in developing and executing overall strategy and PD OKRs.

- Guide PD Engineers in creating and executing SMART work plans.

- Supervise project execution, review results and reports, monitor progress, and escalate issues as needed.

- Provide hands-on support to ensure the timely execution of PD projects.

- Own the execution and reporting of assigned Axis and assist other PD members in navigating their Axis responsibilities.

- Lead high-impact product development projects with direct business implications.

- Develop and continuously improve PD playbooks and best practices.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine strategic product applications that drive innovation and growth.


Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent relevant experience.

- Minimum 10 years of full-time industry experience in automotive or AMTB product development.

- Specialized expertise in CAE (crash, NVH, structural optimization), sheet metal design, and stamping/assembly processes.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.

- Proven track record of mentoring and coaching engineers.

- Expert-level proficiency in CAD, FEA, and engineering analysis tools.

- Strong leadership, coaching, and problem-solving capabilities.

- Deep understanding of material science, laser welding, and OEM design processes.

- Ability to develop and execute SMART work plans.

- Experience supervising project execution and reporting.

- Strategic thinking and ability to support PD Managers in OKR execution.
