Job Summary

The Senior Panel Operator (SPO)-LQF will work within the Production Operations department to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent panel operations of all units, assist with training of new Panel Operators and promote Control Room excellence under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Team Leader. The Senior Panel Operator will be based in the LQF Control Room and will not be required to rotate outside on a scheduled basis. There may be rare circumstances where outside coverage by the SPO is necessary to meet business needs, but those will be managed on a case by case basis.
Duties/Responsibilities
•Safe and efficient operation of the LQF DCS control consoles
•Assist Shift Supervisor to ensure Daily Operating Instructions, Standing Instructions, and Process Operating Guidelines are followed each shift
•Oversight of all LQF DCS control consoles to ensure consistency across all units and adherence to procedures and best practices
•Monitor all facility equipment and terminal operations through facility DCS systems and make appropriate adjustments to ensure systems are maintained within their safe operating envelope
•Ensure panel-related Daily Operating Instructions, Standing Instructions, and Process Operating Guidelines are followed each shift by all panels
•Coordinate with fellow Senior Panel Operators to present operational, procedural, and general systems improvement ideas to Supervision
•Assist Trainers with training and assessing of new Panel Operators, including support on the training simulator
•Provide technical support and feedback to Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering as requested
•Understand Incident Command functions and perform in IC roles as assigned. Roles could include DCS Lead, Muster Reporter, Scribe, or First Responder
•Understand and adhere to all applicable Standard Operating Procedures
Essential Functions
•Perform audits of PTW, LOTO, Inhibits and Overrides, and Task Manager systems to ensure compliance
•Review and update procedures as directed by supervision
•Comply with all facility safety, environmental and health requirements
•Participate in and contribute to emergency response drills and table top exercises
•Attend scheduled regulatory training and drills to maintain IMT status
•Assist and train new or less experienced employees
•Stay current on all required training, certifications, and MOC requirements
•Develop procedures, method statements, LOTOs, etc. as directed by supervision
•Participate in risk assessments, HazOps, PHAs, etc., as requested
•Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by facility supervision
•Must be able to work a rotating 12 hour shift and able to cover scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
•Must have the ability to drive a motor vehicle in order to perform the duties required at all FLNG locations
Minimum Qualification/Work Experience
Minimum Required:
•High School Graduate or GED equivalent and in process of acquiring Process Technology Degree or 7-10+ years’ experience
•7-10+ years’ experience in Operations of an LNG, NGL or Chemical Plant DCS system (Honeywell Experian) experience required
•3+ years’ experience operating a DCS panel of a large-scale APCI liquefaction facility
Preferred:
•Associates Degree in Process Technology

•Must have strong training/mentoring skills
•Trouble shooting/analytical skills with the ability to logically work through process problems and upsets
•Ability to develop and follow operating procedures
•Good mechanical background
•Trained in Emergency Response
•Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment
•Strong commitment to HSE with the ability to inspire and lead others
HSE Roles and Responsibilities
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
Working Conditions and Physical Expectations
•Though this role is primarily assigned to the Control Building, there may be an occasional requirement to work outside due to emergency coverage, incident, Turnaround, etc.
