The Sr. OT Analyst serves as a technical and strategic leader within the OT team and is responsible for maintaining, planning, and implementing Operational Technology (OT), Industrial Control Systems (ICS), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems throughout the enterprise. Works with operations and engineering to develop projects that improve and maintain the OT environment. This position will also perform quality assurance checks and provide guidance and direction to junior OT staff, as needed.
This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
What you will do
- Perform all work in a manner consistent with Doyon Utilities culture of safety.
- Coordinate and direct activities of vendors and internal personnel in installation of hardware and software related to OT, ICS, and SCADA systems.
- Serve as a staff advisor and subject matter expert on OT, ICS, SCADA and Instrumentation.
- Evaluate proposals from vendors and make recommendations on purchases of equipment, software, and system components.
- Install, update, and maintain OT, ICS, and SCADA systems.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting on OT, ICS, SCADA, and Instrumentation.
- Develop, review, edit and distribute OT, ICS, and SCADA standards.
- Work with DU personnel and contractors to ensure applicable standards are implemented and adhered to across utilities.
- Design, prepare, test and implement HMI graphics.
- Assist the OT Manager in establishing training requirements for field and office employees for OT systems & software.
- Establish and maintain documentation for the OT environment including OT asset management databases.
- Work on a wide variety of OT, ICS, and SCADA systems.
- Identify needed improvements within the OT environment and generate well researched project proposals to address them.
- Collaborate with OT Manager to review and enhance OT project proposals.
- Assist engineering group in properly designing and specifying OT systems.
- Generate comprehensive scope documents for projects that touch OT systems.
- Coordinate between the project management team and the OT team to support successful project planning and implementation.
- Develop commissioning guidelines for OT projects.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance the OT environment.
- Learn, adopt, and apply safety programs.
Conditions of Employment
Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer systems technology, systems engineering or closely related field. Required
- 7+ years of field experience such as OT device programing, system design and/or project management. Required and- 4 years Hands on experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, and programming OT devices and systems. Required
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. (required proficiency)
- Advanced knowledge/experience of SCADA principles, practices and appropriate applications. (required proficiency)
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing, in person, over the phone, and video. (required proficiency)
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal communication and instructions. (required proficiency)

- Demonstrated exceptional skills in computer applications and networking with an emphasis on SCADA software applications. (required proficiency)
- Ability to implement security controls for SCADA and ICS systems. (required proficiency)
- Adaptable across a variety of SCADA system implementations. (required proficiency)
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge/experience with applicable cybersecurity standards. (required proficiency)
- Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of LAN and WAN networks. (required proficiency)
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Windows operating systems, SQL and Active Directory. (required proficiency)
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in all matters. (required proficiency)
