Sr Network Engineer

Location:

This position is onsite at the Parnall Service Center located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary Of Job Responsibilities

The Senior Network Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure. This role includes hands-on configuration of networking hardware, troubleshooting advanced issues, and ensuring availability and performance across LAN/WAN environments. The Senior Network Engineer collaborates with IT and security teams to ensure network solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Participate in planning and execution of disaster recovery strategies.

- Conduct network performance tuning, capacity planning, and fault analysis.

- Document configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

- Mentor junior engineers and provide escalation support for complex issues.

- Evaluate and deploy new network tools and technologies to improve operations.

- Provide input to network strategy and roadmaps.

- Design and implement network solutions to meet business and technical requirements.

- Configure and manage routing and switching protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless systems.

- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

- Demonstrates excellent teamwork and embodies the virtues of being humble, hungry, and people smart Professional Standard Professional Standard

- Deep knowledge of routing, switching, and security protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, IPSec).

- Proficiency with enterprise networking platforms.

- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

- Demonstrates initiative and leadership in technical problem solving.

Education/Experience

- Bachelor's degree in related field and 2+ years of experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and network monitoring tools. 4+years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration. - [OR] Associate's degree in related field and 4+ years of experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and network monitoring tools. 6+years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration. - [OR] high school diploma and 6+ years of experience with firewalls, VPNs, wireless, VoIP, and network monitoring tools. 8+years of hands-on experience in IT or Network Administration.
