The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Corporate Development team with capital allocation analysis, including mergers and acquisitions, internal organic growth initiatives, and general financial and economic analyses of various internal corporate undertakings.

- Design, build and utilize financial models using diverse data sets, to facilitate strategic decision making and assess how investments align with the company’s risk profile and tax considerations.
- Perform financial analysis to understand the risk-return profile and viability of potential Investment opportunities including acquisitions and organic growth opportunities.
- Partner with NJR’s Business Development teams to develop financial models and business cases that support the evaluation of new opportunities.
- Develop executive level presentations that include financial information, risk profile, and evaluation of commercial terms for new potential business opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Finance team to coordinate analysis with tax, accounting, financial planning and analysis and treasury functions, ensuring consistency and strategic cohesion.
- Update and maintain market data information and benchmarking.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of energy markets and underlying fundamentals to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Compile and prepare technical, statistical and/or analytical data, reports and presentations as needed.
- Develop, maintain and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress and support data-driven decision-making.
- Assist on various projects as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, engineering or related field.
- Minimum of three years of related experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Power BI experience a plus.
- Exceptional quantitative skills with ability to build financial models, discounted cash flow analysis, and perform a variety of financial and business analyses.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to present complex data and ideas creatively and coherently.
- Strong analytical, pattern detection, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to compile and synthesize detailed information from various sources into actionable information.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with multiple business units on a team-oriented approach’

Job Type is Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Other Details:
Compensation: Expected base pay range for this role will be $87,700- $111,800.
Base pay is based on several factors including, experience, skills, and knowledge.
This role will be eligible to participate in an annual short term incentive program.
