Overview
This senior level position works as a team and/or independently as needed to lead, create, and modify engineering design drawings for complex projects with the use of computer aided design (CAD) software focusing on AutoCAD specifically.
- Provides informal leadership, decision-making, and technical support for the work of less experienced employees and/or contractors.
- Prepares detailed engineering drawings, maps, and diagrams for projects and assignments of high complexity.
- Performs blueprint or other reprographic processing and distribution.
- Assists in department record-keeping and filing systems for historical documentation.
- Assists in development of drawing standards and procedures.
- Works closely with internal and external customers on various aspects of capital projects.
- Actively participates on the internal Engineering team assisting with drafting and/or design on capital projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards- 3+ years electric utility industry experience
- Satisfactory completion of all applicable Drafting and Design Tech I and II training and performance requirements.
- Associate’s degree in drafting, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, industrial maintenance, and/or design related discipline
- Analytical and decision-making skills to perform projects of high complexity.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry specific procedures, processes, terminology, systems, and equipment.
- Specific training and experience with Autodesk software.
- Understanding and familiarity with conventional drafting practices and skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings specific to applicable field of work.
- Willingness to work with field personnel to better understand the processes of project execution.
