The Senior Accountant, Data & Systems Analyst is a hybrid role that combines core senior-level accounting responsibilities with deep expertise in data analytics, reporting automation, and financial systems. This role plays a critical part in supporting the general ledger, commissions, and month-end close activities, while also owning system integrations, data flows, and reporting infrastructure across platforms. Ideal candidates will possess a strong accounting background along with the technical aptitude to work across ERP systems and business intelligence tools.
Note: This is not a business intelligence role. Candidates with deep BI experience seeking a transition into analytics-only roles may not find this position aligned with their career goals.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant who brings strong accounting expertise alongside a knack for systems, reporting, and data-driven improvements. This is an accounting-first role—ideal for someone experienced in general ledger management and month-end close, who also enjoys using Excel, ERP systems, and basic reporting tools to streamline and enhance the accounting function.
If you are a senior-level accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leverages technology to improve accuracy, reporting, and decision-making—but are not looking to shift into business intelligence—this role is for you.
•Lead month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
•Manage and review commission calculations and reporting.
•Analyze accounting and operational data to identify trends, discrepancies, and insights.
•Create and maintain accounting-focused reports (e.g., variance analysis, reconciliations, and trend tracking) using Excel and ERP data. Experience with Power BI is a plus but not required for data visualization leadership.
•Serve as the primary liaison between Accounting and IT to support system configurations and upgrades.
•Ensure data accuracy and consistency across ERP, payroll, CRM, and other business platforms.
•Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools.
•Automate recurring accounting and reporting processes using available tools.
•Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring clear documentation and data traceability.
•Partner with FP&A, Operations, and HR to improve data transparency and decision-making.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
•6+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to data analysis and systems.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
•Comfortable using Power BI and Excel (Power Query, PivotTables) to support accounting workflows. SQL familiarity is a bonus but not a requirement.
•Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle); experience with integrations and reporting tools is a plus.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity and process improvement.
