SQL Reporting Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Report Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality reports and dashboards that support business decision-making. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SQL and modern reporting tools, with a strong focus on data accuracy, performance, and user satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Report Development:

Design, develop, and implement reports, dashboards, and interactive data visualizations using SQL and reporting tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or Crystal Reports.

- Data Extraction & Analysis:

Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources for accurate reporting.

- Requirements Gathering:

Collaborate with business stakeholders and internal teams to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear technical specifications.

- Data Accuracy & Validation:

Ensure reports are accurate, complete, and consistent by performing thorough data validation, cleansing, and quality checks.

- Performance Optimization:

Identify and resolve performance issues in SQL queries and reporting solutions, ensuring efficient and timely data delivery.

- Documentation & Maintenance:

Maintain detailed documentation for reports, data sources, and reporting processes to support knowledge sharing and process continuity.

- Troubleshooting & Support:

Provide ongoing support for existing reports, resolve data discrepancies, and troubleshoot any technical issues.

- Ad-hoc Reporting:

Respond to ad-hoc requests for reports and data extracts to meet specific business requirements.

Skills & Qualifications:

- Proven experience in SQL and reporting tools (SSRS, Power BI, Tableau, or Crystal Reports).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Education/Training/Certifications:

- High School Diploma or GED required; further education in IT, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus.

- Relevant certifications in SQL, Power BI, or data analytics are advantageous.
