The role of Specialist, Privacy Compliance, plays a crucial role in the development and implementation of our Information Governance Framework. The key responsibilities will include overseeing the execution of action plans, policies, and procedures to ensure full compliance with complex statutory and regulatory requirements. Serve as the point person for ensuring that all staff members understand and adhere to these requirements. The Specialist, Privacy Compliance will serve as a champion within the IM team and across business units, promoting a secure organizational culture through knowledge sharing, training, positive influence, and exemplary conduct.
• Develop and implement the Information Governance Framework
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, corporate, and financial requirements related to information governance
• Oversee Record Management Codes of Practice and other relevant guidance and best practices
• Supporting the Records Manager, include Policy Implementation, Data Quality Assurance, Compliance Monitoring, Training and Awareness, Documentation Management, Technology Utilization, Collaboration and Communication
• Help create policies that govern the organization’s data management practices
• Train new members on record keeping and management
• Perform continuous research to stay up to date with data management laws and policies
• Hold meetings with business to advise them on data protection techniques
• Work with quality control to ensure consistency of the data sets
• Performing risk evaluation operations to identify any potential security threats within systems of records
• Collaborating with other specialists in the organization, such as legal and IT teams, to implement information management systems
• Create and maintain documentation related to data governance processes, standards, and best practices.
• Monitor and enforce adherence to data retention policies, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and assist in translating business needs into data governance solutions.
• Support the resolution of data-related issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams leadership to develop and enforce information governance policies and procedures.
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Systems, related field of study from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience required.
• Minimum of four years in Information Governance or compliance-related field required.
• Experience with data security and privacy regulations, compliance frameworks, and risk management practices
• Knowledge of current and emerging IM practices
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and workflow to ensure accuracy and quality
Support the policies, efforts, and programs of Freeport LNG Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Actively participate in the HSE Management System Policies. Ensure that HSE concerns are given priority in all activities completed within their area of responsibility. Implement routine inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
This position is based at the Houston Headquarters with frequent travel to other Freeport LNG sites, as well as off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/fax, filing cabinets, etc.

This is primarily a sedentary role; however, the incumbent must be able to stand and/or sit continuously to perform all essential job functions for a full shift.
